Part of MacArthur Boulevard in upper Northwest Washington remained closed Friday and may not reopen until Monday.

Crews have been working on a 30-inch water main that broke along the road near Canal Road NW for several days now. The water main dates back to 1860, according to officials at DC Water.

Officials said the roadway was severely damaged and then crews had to wait on a part that was coming from Massachusetts.
