The northbound lanes of the George Washington Parkway have reopened after an earlier crash.

The cause of the crash, which involved multiple vehicles, is not known at this time. And it  was not known if anyone was seriously hurt.

All northbound lanes of the George Washington Parkway are closed Monday morning after a crash that involved several vehicles.

The crash happened on the parkway near Interstate 66 in Arlington County.

It was not immediately known if anyone was seriously injured.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area. Traffic is being diverted to Memorial Circle, transportation officials said.

The southbound lanes remain open.
