Blue, Orange and Silver line trains had been single-tracking between McPherson Square and Federal Center.

Trains were single-tracking for four stations -- Dupont Circle to Van Ness.

Police were still investigating the armed kidnapping and the killing of a security guard which ended with a police chase onto H Street on Thursday night.

Trains cannot pass through in either direction.

All lanes have reopened, but traffic is still backed up.

One lane is now open in each direction.

Trains are single-tracking at the southern end of the Blue Line.

Metro warned customers on Wednesday that several service changes are planned for Thursday, when a winter storm could bring several inches of snow to the area.

Snow-related service changes are ending tonight.

Snow is expected to fall for several hours.
