Terrell Owens has a message for the New York Jets and, let’s face it, probably 31 other NFL teams, as well.

During the Jets’ loss to the Houston Texans on Monday night, Owens saw a need and tweeted that he’s primed to return to work. He hasn’t been with a team since his nearly three-week stint with the Seattle Seahawks in August.

At this point, it probably couldn’t hurt. The Jets lost Santonio Holmes for the season last week and are, to put it charitably, rather thin at the position. Clyde Gates left the Monday night game with a shoulder injury, leaving Chaz Schilens and Jeremy Kerley as options.

Coach Rex Ryan, asked about Owens’s offer Tuesday morning, said (via Bob Glauber): “You never say never to anything. You look at your situation. I would assume we’d go with the same crew.”
