Matt Slauson’s block on Brian Cushing — the one that resulted in a season-ending torn anterior cruciate ligament for Cushing — reportedly will draw the scrutiny of the NFL.

The block, which has drawn criticism from players like Clay Matthews and Darnell Dockett, did not draw a flag from officials. However, that doesn’t the mean the NFL won’t fine Slauson, who made the play in the New York Jets’ loss to the Houston Texans. USA Today reported that the play is under review.

“Obviously, cutting is a part of football, but the rule says you can’t come back [toward] your own goal line and cut,” Texans Coach Gary Kubiak said. “So the question is, is the guy coming back to his own goal line? That’s in the league’s hands. We turn in plays. We turn in situations, and they’ve got to do their job.”
