Albert Pujols reportedly had minor knee surgery

Not that St. Louis Cardinals fans would say it because they’re a fairly polite bunch, but they aren’t exactly missing Albert Pujols, who spurned them in order to sign with the Los Angeles Angels as a free agent.

While they’re battling in the National League Championship Series, Pujols is looking ahead to next season — and underwent minor knee surgery last week, according to Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Pujols, a three-time National League MVP with St. Louis, had an arthroscopic procedure to clean up his knee, Strauss reported. The surgery involves minimal rehab and Pujols already has resumed conditioning.

Last season, Pujols hit .285, with 30 home runs and 105 RBI. Of course, if you watched the Fox broadcast Wednesday night, you might think he was still a Cardinal.
