At this point, no matter how much pain he may be feeling, it hurts Ben Roethlisberger says it hurts more to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers struggle without him.

With the Steelers 6-5 after a loss to the Cleveland Browns, the team faces an important game Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens in Pittsburgh and Roethlisberger said he wants badly to play.

“I’m going to try,” he told Ron Cook of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “It’s killing me to watch.”

Roethlisberger has missed two games, in which the Steelers are 0-2, after suffering serious rib and shoulder injuries. Although the rib injury was so dangerous that it could have punctured his aorta, it isn’t beyond the realm of possibility that Roethlisberger, who was not using a sling Sunday, could play this week. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that his pain tolerance and range of motion could determine whether he plays.

In the meantime, he can keep busy changing diapers. His wife, Ashley, delivered the couple’s first child, Benjamin Todd Roethlisberger Jr., on the night before Thanksgiving.
