Mike Gundy to stay at Oklahoma State, report says

Mike Gundy, it turns out, is man enough to stay at Oklahoma State.

Gundy, whose name was mentioned in connection with vacancies at Arkansas and Tennessee, will remain the Cowboys’ coach, ESPN reports. The Cowboys, 7-5 after their school-best 12-1 season in 2011, will play Purdue in the Heart of Dallas Bowl on New Year’s Day.

Gundy is the school’s winningest coach, but he’s best known for his epic “I’m a man! I’m 40!” rant over a newspaper story that criticized one of his players in 2007.

Awful Announcing deems Gundy’s rant the best among football coaches/press conference division. It’s tough to top Herman Edwards, though.
