Tony Romo caught in Twitter fight between Cowboys, Stars

(Evan Vucci / AP)

This time, Tony Romo isn’t to blame.

A crosstown Twitter smackfest erupted between the Dallas Stars and the Dallas Cowboys and the quarterback was an innocent, accidental casualty.

The Cowboys, in a tweet to a fan that has been deleted, basically conveyed a ho-hum approach to the return of the NHL. The Stars shot back with a picture of Mike Modano hoisting Lord Stanley’s chalice in 1999 and a reminder that Romo has never done the same with Lord Lombardi’s trophy.

Poor Romo.

The duel ended quickly enough, with a Cowboys apology.
