Nerlens Noel tore his anterior cruciate ligament in a collision with a basketball stancheon Tuesday night in Kentucky’s loss to Florida in Gainesville and will be out the rest of the season.

Noel, expected to be one of the top picks in the NBA draft, will undergo surgery when swelling subsides and rehab will take six-to-eight months. The University of Kentucky announced the news this afternoon, after Noel underwent an MRI.
