Bubba Watson, Masters champion, General Lee owner, Golf Boy, Hovercraft pioneer.

In the greatest invention since Arnold Palmer created the Arnold Palmer, Watson and Oakley are backing a hovercraft that really should replace golf carts. It makes a delightful noise, one that would probably drown out Tiger Woods’s curses, as it hovers above the grass and goes over all manner of terrain (and water).

Behold: The BW1 — and never mind that it debuted perilously close to April 1. “They have the same ideas of having fun that I do,” Jetson Watson said Tuesday (via ESPN) at an Oakley clothing event in New York. “I think we all want to enjoy life.”

In a statement, Oakley said: “When Bubba told us he wanted to do something wild with golf carts, we got together with a company that builds the kind of machines that come straight out of childhood dreams. The result is pure Bubba, and beyond the bounds of reasonable limits.”
