Tim Tebow practiced with his new team today and afterward he made New England Patriots Coach Bill Belichick seem positively chatty by comparison.
There was no lengthy press conference to introduce Tebow, who signed a two-year, non-guaranteed contract this morning. Reporters grabbed him as he left the field after the Patriots’ minicamp at Gillette Stadium and he gave only a brief statement, taking no questions.
“First and foremost, I just want to thank the Patriots for giving me an opportunity. I’m very thankful,” Tebow said. “It’s such an honor to be a Patriot and play for Coach Belichick and Coach [Josh] McDaniels [the offensive coordinator], to learn under Tom [Brady] and be a part of this great franchise a part of a very successful franchise.
“I found that out first-hand. I lost to them several times. So it’s going to be a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to working hard every single day and getting a lot better and learning under some great people. That’s all I got. Thank you all so much and God bless. I’m sure we’ll be talking more soon.”
