Update: Maurkice Pouncey apologizes

Since Aaron Hernandez was charged with murder June 26, there hasn’t been a lot of support for the tight end, who seemingly could not be cut quickly enough by the New England Patriots.

But over the weekend, two of Hernandez’s former University of Florida teammates turned up wearing caps that appeared to support Hernandez, who is being held without bail and has entered a not-guilty plea in the June 17 homicide of Odin Lloyd. Maurkice Pouncey, center for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Mike Pouncey, his twin who is the Miami Dolphins center, were out and about over the weekend in Miami when the photo popped up on Twitter.

The Steelers and Dolphins, ESPN’s John Clayton reports, intend to speak with the Pouncey twins about their choices in headwear, although let’s note the the Pounceys are free to dress as they please and Hernandez is innocent until proven guilty.
