What happens when a golf ball strikes the lens of a high-definition camera?
Presumably, ESPN’s equipment is insured against the kind of damage Thomas Bjorn caused with his shot from the rough at the British Open this morning at Muirfield.

Note to Bjorn: This is no way to win an ESPY.
By early evening in Scotland, there was news of a miracle. Only the lens was damaged, ESPN’s David Scott reported. It was replaced and the camera was ready for more work, as was its uninjured cameraman, Tom Cassese. Evidently, $80,000 cameras come with spare lenses.
