Kobe Bryant takes issue with prediction for Lakers

Kobe Bryant doubts ESPN’s projection. (Kin Cheung / AP)

Kobe Bryant reported earlier this week that his surgically repaired Achilles tendon “feels really, really good.” His pride, though, was another matter after ESPN projected the Los Angeles Lakers to finish 12th in the Western Conference.

That’s 12th … looking up at the Pelicans but ahead of the Jazz, Kings and Suns. That prompted this tweet from Bryant:

It might be worth reminding Kobe that the Lakers, now minus Dwight Howard and Metta World Peace, have an aging Steve Nash and, in Bryant, a 35-year-old coming off a torn Achilles. No doubt he’d just point out that the Lakers have missed the playoffs only once in his career.
