Really, is this any way to celebrate Marlon Byrd T-shirt night?

Just hours before the giveaway at Citi Field, the New York Mets traded the outfielder and catcher John Buck to the Pittsburgh Pirates for 19-year-old infielder Dilson Herrera and a player to be named later.

The timing stinks, but when a team’s gotta trade, a team’s gotta trade — T-shirt night be damned. Still, the Mets are compiling quite the public relations moves. Last month, their plans for Native American Heritage Day were scrapped because the opponents were the Atlanta Braves.
