Lamar Odom receiving treatment, reports say

Lamar Odom is receiving treatment after his arrest last week on suspicion of driving under the influence, but there are conflicting reports about just where he is.

Odom, according to a report Thursday, had checked into rehab, but the Los Angeles Times and TMZ both report that the NBA free agent and husband of reality-TV star Khloe Kardashian has not entered a treatment facility. On Friday, E online reported that Odom had left rehab.

Odom was arrested Aug. 30 when he was seen driving erratically. He refused a chemical test that would have determined his level of intoxication and his driver’s license was suspended for a year. Odom, who has not been charged, retained another famous name as legal counsel, hiring Robert Shapiro. Shapiro, along with Kardashian’s late father, were part of the legal dream team that defended O.J. Simpson on murder charges in 1994.

Shapiro has often defended clients with alcohol and drug addictions, increasingly so since his son died of an accidental overdose in 2005.
