Alabama bar turns Johnny Manziel into piñata

Johnny Manziel may have felt like a piñata at times during the offseason after his stellar, Heisman-Trophy-winning freshman year, but now he’s literally one.

An Alabama bar, natch, has made a Johnny Piñata out of Johnny Football ahead of the big game this weekend between the Crimson Tide and Manziel’s Texas A&M team, which upended ‘Bama last year.

“It’s fun to take a whack at a piñata,” Will Haver, owner of Otey’s Tavern in Mountain Brook, Ala., told “It’s all in good spirit and fun, to poke at Texas A&M and ‘Johnny Football.'”

Manziel might beg to differ. Johnny Piñata is a 30-inch tall “likeness” of Manziel, complete with dollar bills, a Sharpie for signing autographs and a $ where No. 2 should be. Unlike the real deal, the piñata may not make it to game day.

“That’s going to be the challenge, keeping it intact,” Haver said. “I’m sure most people want to go ahead and have a go at it.”
