Things are bad in Jacksonville, so bad that an Orlando TV station apologized over the weekend for having to telecast the Jaguars’ game.

The Jags have scored all of 11 points so far and that means only one thing: It’s Tebow time.

There will be a rally urging the team to sign Tim Tebow, a Jacksonville native and a legend as a college quarterback at Florida, outside EverBank Field today. The rally is the work of a group of fans who’ve created the Jags-Tebow Why Not? website.

“Love him or hate him,” the group says on its website, “Tim Tebow behind center in a Jacksonville Jaguar uniform would change everything.”

Perhaps. Tebow has been a free agent since he was released by the New England Patriots on Aug. 31. The event is scheduled to start at 3:16 p.m. EDT and last for three hours, 16 minutes. And, yes, 3:16 refers to a Bible verse that Tebow has often written in his eyeblack.
