The father of Arizona Cardinals nose tackle Dan Williams was killed in an auto accident this weekend as he and Williams’s family traveled to New Orleans to watch Williams play against the Saints.

Thomas Williams was en route from Memphis when the accident occurred, according to the Arizona Republic. Dan Williams’s mother and sister were passengers in the car and they survived, although their condition was not known.

Williams did not travel to New Orleans with the team and is inactive today.
