Josh Freeman benched by Bucs in favor of Mike Glennon

During Sunday’s loss to the New England Patriots, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Coach Greg Schiano said he didn’t give a thought to benching quarterback Josh Freeman, who was in the midst of another ineffective day.

By Wednesday morning, he’d changed his mind. The Bucs will start Mike Glennon on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, as ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported.

Against the Patriots, Freeman completed 19 of 41 passes for 236 yards and an interception. He had completed less than 50 percent of his passes in each of the three games of the season and the Bucs are 0-3.

“When you have a situation that you have control over and you don’t make it, then you are living on borrowed time,” Schiano said Sunday.
