Move over, Chad Qualls, you’ve got company.

Los Angeles Kings goalie Jonathan Quick joined the Miami Marlins pitcher, reknowned for his face plant, in Blooper World on Monday night by giving up a looooooooong goal to Ryan McDonagh in the New York Rangers’ s 3-1 win. McDonagh took the puck after a faceoff and cleared the defensive zone by banking the puck down the ice off the sideboard.

Even the Kings’ Twitter feed was at a rare loss for words.

Quick, who was given a 10-year, $58 million contract in the summer of 2012, hung his head after the misplay and Staples Center fans let him hear about it. When he stopped a dump-in shot, fans gave him a Bronx cheer and he waved his glove at them.

He was a little short-tempered when asked afterward about the misplay. “You guys are writing a story on that one goal?” he asked (via the Los Angeles Times’ Lisa Dillman). “My stick fell out of my hand. I tried to stop it with my blocker and it hit my blocker.”
