Marine Corps Marathon, Army Ten-Miler to go on as scheduled

(Jonathan Newton / The Washington Post)

For the runners who’ve entered the Army Ten-Miler this weekend and the Marine Corps Marathon the following weekend, the end of the shutdown means that the races are officially on.

The MCM will take place as scheduled Oct. 27 with the Ten-Miler on Sunday (Oct. 20). The Army race will revert to its original course, much of which traverses National Park Service land. Because of the shutdown, organizers had planned an alternate route in Arlington. That has now been scrapped (via Military Times).
