Ahmad Brooks fined $15,750; Ray Lewis says he’ll pay half

Ray Lewis wasn’t kidding when he said he would pony up half of any fine assessed San Francisco 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks for his hit on Drew Brees on Sunday.

The NFL fined Brooks $15,750 and Lewis promised prompt payment.

Tedy Bruschi said he’d kick in for a third, so that’s another $5,230 Brooks will get back. The brotherhood of the linebacker is strong, much like the New Orleans Saints quarterback’s neck.

“It felt like I got my head ripped off,” he said Tuesday of the play that caused him to resemble a cartoon figure. “And I get up and I’ve got a mouth full of blood.”
