When Derrick Rose was lost for the season to another knee injury two weeks ago, there were fears that the former NBA MVP might be never be the same, that his career might even be finished.

That’s not what Rose is thinking. “I’m not done yet,” he said in his first comments since having surgery to repair torn meniscus.

Rose missed all of last season after tearing his left anterior cruciate ligament in the 2012 playoffs and is expected to miss the rest of this regular season.

“I’m rebuilding my leg all over again, my other leg,” Rose said. “The process of actually dealing with an injury is kind of frustrating at first, knowing I’m going to miss a long period of time.”

Rose didn’t discount returning for the playoffs “if I’m healthy and the situation is right.”
