Adrian Peterson carted off with ankle injury

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was carted off the field and taken to the locker room for X-rays after injuring his ankle in the game against the Ravens in Baltimore.

Peterson, who had been questionable to start because of a groin injury, was hurt in the second quarter when he hauled in a third-down pass from Matt Cassel, then was caught by Ravens linebacker Arthur Brown before he could get out of bounds. Brown appeared to land on Peterson’s legs.

Peterson was ruled out for the rest of the game.
