A snowfall fight that got out of hand will cost an Oregon player a trip to the Alamo Bowl.
Pharaoh Brown, the starting tight end, was suspended for joining nearly 100 students who pelted cars and drivers with snowballs on the Eugene, Ore., campus last Friday. Other players were also involved, but only Brown has been suspended for the Dec. 30 bowl game.
“On Saturday, I was made aware of an incident that occurred Friday afternoon during the snow day involving multiple Oregon students including members of the football team,” Coach Mark Helfrich said in a statement Sunday after video of the incident went viral. “The behavior exhibited in the video is completely unacceptable and dangerous. We take this matter very seriously and disciplinary actions have begun.”
Brown has caught 10 passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns.
Embarrassed by the video I just watched. That's not all of us, sending the sincerest apologies.
