One man is uniquely qualified to judge the quarterbacking merits of Peyton Manning and Tom Brady and settle this endless which-one-is-better debate.
Wes Welker, who has caught passes from both, isn’t touching the subject ahead of Brady vs. Manning XV in the AFC championship game between the New England Patriots, Welker’s former team, and the Denver Broncos, his present team.
“It’s like comparing Picasso and Michelangelo,” he said (via the Associated Press). “It’s hard to compare the two.”
Welker, who was Brady’s favorite wide receiver before the Patriots let him head West as a free agent, was being so diplomatic that he wouldn’t even say if he liked Michaelangelo or Picasso better.
“I couldn’t even tell you,” Welker said. “Somebody threw those names at me one time and I thought it sounded pretty good.”
