Among the many present and former athletes tweeting support for Michael Sam after the Missouri defensive lineman announced that he is gay is one controversial man who may soon be an NFL colleague.

Richie Incognito, the Miami Dolphins offensive lineman who was suspended Nov. 3 because of allegations by Jonathan Martin that ignited a debate about NFL locker room culture, tweeted that “it takes guts to do what you did.” Incognito’s suspension was lifted by the Dolphins last week and the results of an NFL investigation into the Incognito-Martin issue are expected to be released soon.

Martin also tweeted support, along the same lines, for Sam.
