Connecticut guard Shabazz Napier dazzled the crowd in the final game of Saturday night, making 9 of 13 shots from the floor en route to 25 points as the No. 7 seed Huskies turned back No. 2 Villanova, 77-65.

The victory came with a bit of a scare with just over four minutes remaining and the Huskies clinging to a seven-point lead when the senior guard appeared to suffer cramps in his right calf.

The standout guard missed about a minute of play before coming back and making a layup.

The Wildcats jumped out to a 20-11 lead but the Huskies used a 14-0 lead to take a 25-24 lead into the half. Villanova grabbed a 36-35 lead with 15 minutes and 15 seconds remaining on a James Bell three-pointer but DeAndre Daniels answered with a jumper and the Huskies wouldn’t trail again.

The Huskies secured their first Sweet 16 berth since they won the 2011 National Championship with Charlotte Bobcats point guard Kemba Walker at the point.
