Do the Pistons want Michigan State Coach Tom Izzo?

Michigan State Coach Tom Izzo has a Sweet 16 basketball team and, conveniently, the Detroit Pistons have an opening for a coach,  so naturally people are starting to connect the dots.

The Pistons are likely to pursue Izzo, USA Today’s Sam Amick of USA Today reports, just as they did unsuccessfully in 2010.

Izzo, whose Spartans are a favorite in the NCAA tournament, is 653-467 record in almost 20 years and has taken MSU to the Final Four times, winning the national championship in 1999-00.

After spending most of her career in traditional print sports journalism, Cindy began blogging and tweeting, first as NFL/Redskins editor, and, since August 2010, at The Early Lead. She also is the social media editor for Sports.
