Sports can get nasty. They can get dirty. Sometimes literally: Michael Pineda, you have something on your neck. But at times when things get too chippy, it’s always the kids who remind us how magical these games adults play actually are.

These videos showing kids feeling true mirth because of sports make us happy to be entrenched in this wonderful, athletic world.

First up, let’s watch this kid get what might be the best memory of his life so far when hockey player Jordin Tootoo of the the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins gave him his hockey stick.

Turning to baseball, to quote the announcers about this kid’s reaction to catching a foul ball, “That is more than two thumbs up.”
