Champions League semifinal: Real Madrid, Bayern Munich set for second leg

Bayern Munich hosts Real Madrid on Tuesday in the second leg of their Champions League semifinal.

When: 2:45 p.m.

U.S. television: Fox Sports 1, Fox Deportes. NOTE: Fox Sports 1 is scheduled to televise NBA Commissioner Adam Silver’s news conference regarding disgraced Clippers owner Donald Sterling, which is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. If Silver’s talk goes long, the game will begin on Fox Sports 2.

Where: Allianz Arena, Munich.

First leg: Real Madrid scored a 1-0 win on Wednesday.

At stake: Champions League final berth against either Chelsea or Atletico Madrid — who played to a 0-0 draw last Tuesday and play their second leg on Wednesday — on May 24 in Lisbon.

Quick notes:

— Real Madrid has never won in nine previous matches at Bayern Munich (eight losses, one draw) and has just just two wins ever on German soil in 27 matches against Bundesliga teams.

Gareth Bale is good to go for Real after barely playing in the first leg and missing Real’s league win over Osasuna last weekend with the flu.

— Bayern “has a chance to become the first club to win two straight titles since the Champions League formed in the 1992-93 season.”

— Franck Ribery “needs to play angry,” Bayern Coach Pep Guardiola said of his slumping winger.
