UPDATE: Shaq took to Twitter and apologized. He said on Twitter: “Made a new friend today when I called and apologized to Jahmel Binion. Great dude.” He later followed it up with another tweet: “Had the opportunity to talk to Jahmel Binion yesterday and apologize about the post on IG!”

There’s something about basketball these days. A lot of inappropriate extraneous events keep mucking up the game. There’s all the Donald Sterling stuff, obviously, but now there’s Shaquille O’Neal and his decision to mock on Instagram of a Michigan man who suffers from a rare disorder.

O’Neal has since smartly deleted the selfie he took last week that mocks Jahmel Binion, who suffers from ectodermal dysplasia, but at press time, he had yet to apologize. Binion, however, is taking it all in stride, Detroit’s Fox 2 reports. While he waits for the TNT analyst to say he’s sorry, Binion is using his newfound fame to promote an anti-bullying campaign on Facebook, Hug Don’t Judge.

But lest the world think O’Neal is getting out of this scot-free, feast your eyes on this wonderful moving image that shows Shaq tripping over a garbage can during a Sunday broadcast on TNT. That’s called karma.
