Jameis Winston cited for shoplifting crab legs, which is no joke (except on Twitter)

UPDATE 1:41: Florida State confirms via a statement that Winston has been suspended from the school’s baseball team.

UPDATE 12:30: Elliott reports, “A source inside Florida State’s program says that Winston will be fined $30, required to do community service, and will be suspended from the baseball team.”

ORIGINAL POST

SBNation’s Florida State blog is reporting that Seminoles quarterback and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston has been cited for shoplifting crab legs from a Publix grocery store. As any business owner/police officer/McGruff the Crime Dog will tell you, shoplifting is a serious crime, but according to Bud Elliott of Tomahawk Nation, being cited is much less dire than being arrested, and the charge will be dropped if Winston adheres to the whatever punishment is doled out.

So will all that throat-clearing out of the way, let’s get to the Twitter jokes.
