The other day, we taught you how to make a mint julep for your Kentucky Derby celebration. A couple of those would make a fine main course for your Kentucky Derby party, but man can’t live on bourbon and mint alone (right?). But what about dessert? Thanks to The Post’s Tracee Hamilton, we have that covered, too, with a recipe for a pie I’m afraid to call Derby Pie because apparently I’ll get sued.

Pie for Eating During the Kentucky Derby That in No Way Should be Called Derby Pie


1 cup sugar

1/2 cup flour

1 stick butter or margarine, melted

2 eggs slightly beaten

1 tsp. vanilla

1 cup chopped nuts

1 cup chocolate chips

1 jigger whiskey

Mix flour and sugar, add eggs and butter/margarine. Stir well, then add other ingredients. Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake at 325 degrees for one hour.
