Heavyweight boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko and his famous fiance Hayden Panettiere decided to postpone their wedding because of the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, Us Magazine reports.

Klitschko, who now resides in Germany, still has very close ties to his native country, Ukraine, including some heavy-duty political ties. Klitschko’s brother Vitali was one of the opposition leaders that drove former president Viktor Yanukovych out of office earlier this year. Today, Vitali Klitschko sits on the Ukrainian Parliament and continues to lead the Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reform.

Panettiere, who stars in the ABC drama “Nashville,” told Parade Magazine in April: “Everything that’s happening in Ukraine definitely put a hold on things. But we have time.”

The 6-foot-6 Wladimir Klitschko, 38, and the 5-foot Panettiere, 24, got engaged last October.
