That thudding sound you heard was Cleveland landing back in reality. Just a day after the euphoria of drafting Johnny Manziel (with the possible help of a homeless man), Browns fans now have this to chew over in the Dawg Pound:

In case you’ve forgotten (or don’t play fantasy football), Gordon led the NFL last season with 1,646 receiving yards despite playing just 14 games. And why did he play only 14 games? Because he had to sit out Weeks 1 and 2 for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy. So his potential loss would most definitely be felt by Manziel, Brian Hoyer, or whomever starts at quarterback for Cleveland.

So while Browns fans apparently can have nice things, at least once in a while, they’re never far from a reminder that, well, they’re Browns fans. Oh, and this also serves as a reminder that while the Browns were widely lauded for trading back during the first round and still getting their man, the player chosen (by the Bills) in their original No. 4 overall spot was Sammy Watkins, a highly regarded wide receiver. Who is not, as far as we know, facing a year-long suspension.

All in all, this seems like as a good a time as any to roll out the “Factory of sadness!” video (warning: a bad word).
