Kevin Durant turned his back on Russell Westbrook free throws and the internet memes began

There came a time, as they say on “Law & Order,” when Russell Westbrook stepped to the free-throw line with six seconds left and the Oklahoma City Thunder trailing the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 5 of their NBA playoff series.

The ability to make free throws being a rare commodity in today’s NBA, one of his teammates — NBA MVP Kevin Durant — apparently couldn’t bear to watch and the photographic evidence of Durant plunking down with his back to the play  is marvelous. So marvelous that there is, of course, a meme, as http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2014/5/14/5716718/kevin-durant-russell-westbrook-free-throws-thunder-clippers, of Other Events Kevin Durant Couldn’t Bear to Watch.

Westbrook’s free throws capped his 38-point performance in the Thunder’s 105-104 victory over the Clippers.
