Brandon Marshall signs $30 million contract extension … on ‘The View’

(John McDonnell / Washington Post)

Brandon Marshall signed a contract extension with the Chicago Bears and he did it in one of the most unorthodox ways imaginable: he signed during an appearance on that noted sports program “The View.”

Marshall said the extension is for $30 million over three years and he pledged a $1 million donation to “the mental health community” on Twitter. There was a bit of confusion at first when Marshall announced that the deal was for $40 million, but that’s because he has another year left on his current contract.

Marshall, 30, has long been open about his struggle with borderline personality disorder.

After spending most of her career in traditional print sports journalism, Cindy began blogging and tweeting, first as NFL/Redskins editor, and, since August 2010, at The Early Lead. She also is the social media editor for Sports.
