Professional wrestling and interpretive dance. Who knew those two concepts would ever come together? The WWE, obviously, which used the latter art form to continue transforming superstar Damien Sandow, the former “intellectual savior to the masses,” into the village idiot during Monday night’s Raw, which aired live from Minneapolis.
Like Sandow’s previous performances as the Pacers’ Lance Stephenson and a dumpy Magneto, his stint as an interpretive dancer divided the WWE Universe, with about half the fans loving the joke and the others wondering who Sandow angered backstage to deserve this punishment.
My wife was SO excited about @TheDamienSandow’s ballet outfit & performance tonight.. If you’re gonna do it, go all the way.— Matt Hardy (@MATTHARDYBRAND) June 10, 2014
A year ago Damien Sandow won Money in the Bank on the verge of breaking through to the main event. What a difference a year makes— Smith Hart (@SmithHart1) June 10, 2014
