Kobe Bryant is recruiting Carmelo Anthony, but Lakers are a longshot

The Los Angeles Lakers wouldn’t seem to be an ideal destination for Carmelo Anthony, the free agent who is more interested in winning a title than making an outrageous fortune.

Still, Kobe Bryant plans to make his best sales pitch, he told ESPN’s Chris Broussard, in a text message and will meet with him.

Los Angeles might be a better spot for Anthony’s wife, Lala, but Anthony reportedly is talking to Dallas and Houston in his first round of interviews.
