Bulls pull out all stops — and Derrick Rose — to recruit Carmelo Anthony

Despite his promise to the contrary, Derrick Rose came to the United Center and helped with the sales pitch the Chicago Bulls made to Carmelo Anthony.

The former MVP showed up to experience the red-carpet welcome that featured an arena bedecked in signage of Melo in a Bulls uniform.

Joakim Noah, who has been recruiting Anthony from the start, and Taj Gibson also stopped in, although no one was offering many details of the meeting.

Whatever Anthony heard, it wasn’t enough to keep him from heading to Texas, where he is expected to meet with the Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets on Wednesday. He’s scheduled to head for Los Angeles to speak with the Lakers after those meetings.
