Rockets, Jeremy Lin at odds over that No. 7 Carmelo Anthony jersey

In their zeal to recruit Carmelo Anthony, the Houston Rockets put up a huge, Photoshopped image of the free agent in a Rockets jersey, replete with his favorite No. 7, outside the Toyota Center.

There was just one little problem: The number belongs to Jeremy Lin, who is currently on the roster. Now, the NBA is a business and everyone — especially Lin — knows that, if Anthony comes to Houston, Lin goes because of their past history with the New York Knicks. Still, this seemed like an unnecessary diss.

Lin responded with a Biblical tweet late in the afternoon:

A Rockets source told Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski that they’d told him of their plans ahead of time, but Lin’s agents contradicted that.
