Watch McKayla Maroney throw out a spectacular first pitch

McKayla Maroney, the gold-medal-winning gymnast who launched a trillion memes after the 2012 Olympics, tossed out the ceremonial first pitch Friday night before the Minnesota Twins-Chicago White Sox game at U.S. Cellular Field and she may have lacked for distance on her throw, but she made up for it with a springy gymnastics-inspired windup.

No 50 Cent-like performance here. She gets a perfect 10.

After spending most of her career in traditional print sports journalism, Cindy began blogging and tweeting, first as NFL/Redskins editor, and, since August 2010, at The Early Lead. She also is the social media editor for Sports.
