Things are looking up for Brazilian soccer star Neymar. The 22-year-old forward is back with Barcelona training with his team just more than a month after suffering a fractured vertebra when Colombia’s Juan Zuniga kneed him in the back on a bad challenge during a World Cup quarterfinal match.

After passing a medical exam on Tuesday, Neymar trained individually, the Associated Press reports, adding, “The club says Neymar’s progress will determine when he rejoins the team for regular training.”

Neymar, who got rid of his blond highlights in the past few weeks, has been enjoying his time off while recovering. Most recently, the Barcelona star was in Ibiza, Spain, where he posted photos of himself on Instagram with Paris Hilton, German soccer star Bastian Schweinsteiger and, obviously, some girls on a boat.

Before that, Neymar was in Japan filming a commercial for Nishikawa’s “AiR” mattress brand (which hopefully will turn out better than Ronaldo’s Japanese facial exerciser commercial…), according to The Daily Mail.

Also back training at Barcelona this week are Argentinian World Cup stars Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano, as well as Neymar’s fellow Brazilian teammate Dani Alves, Barcelona FC’s Web site reports.

The only World Cup star who has yet to join the crew is the newly signed Luis Suarez of Uruguay. He won’t join the team until October when he completes his four-month suspension doled out by FIFA for biting an opponent in the World Cup.

Barcelona’s first match of the 2014-15 season is scheduled for August 24 against Elche.
