The future of basketball has been on display over the weekend and let’s just say it probably made Geno Auriemma and John Calipari very, very happy.

Mo’Ne Davis, 13, has taken the Little League World Series by storm, but her heart is in hoops — and she hopes to play one day for Auriemma’s team at Connecticut one day. The video evidence of her prowess — taken four years ago and unearthed by CBS’s Eye on Basketball — is pretty impressive.

Kind of reminds a person of a certain 9-year-old named LeBron James Jr., whose talents drew the attention of Kentucky’s Calipari at an AAU tournament last month.

After spending most of her career in traditional print sports journalism, Cindy began blogging and tweeting, first as NFL/Redskins editor, and, since August 2010, at The Early Lead. She also is the social media editor for Sports.
