A new trailer for the “Entourage” movie dropped Tuesday night, and it seems to be pitched at sports fans. The two-and-a-half-minute clip recycles a lot of the footage that was revealed in a December trailer, but it makes sure to name-check Ronda Rousey, as well as Russell Wilson and Tom Brady.
The added exposure for Rousey is another sign of how high her star has risen of late. She got plenty of publicity before and after her recent 14-second destruction of Cat Zingano, and the new “Entourage” trailer shows Turtle saying, “Ronda Rousey, the fighter — I love her!”
We later see the MMA star putting Turtle in a painful-looking hold:
Rousey then gets a title card, along with the likes of Liam Neeson, Jessica Alba, David Spade, Warren Buffett, Kelsy Grammer, Ed O’Neill, Pharrell and, uh, Andrew Dice Clay. Also brought to our attention are two guys who just squared off in the Super Bowl:
Making a return appearance from the December trailer was Rob Gronkowski, doing Gronk things with Patriots teammate Julian Edelman.
And was that Baron Davis? Hanging out with Gary Busey??
Plenty of other sports figures are reported to be in the movie as well, including Kevin Durant, Mariano Rivera, Mark Cuban, Mike Richards and other L.A. Kings. Oh, and Amar’e Stoudemire and Michael Strahan, apparently.
So, the movie seems to be saying, if you like sports, you’ll love “Entourage”! The film should also appeal to folks who like watching other folks party on yachts.
