According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, LeBron James has again made a decision to enter free agency.

After leading the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals and pushing the Golden State Warriors with a series of dominant individual performances that made LeBron haters cringe, James will reportedly bypass a $21.5 million player option, which puts him in position to leverage another contract in his home state or to explore his options elsewhere.  Per Windhorst:

The move, which was expected, marks the third time in the past six years that James will be an unrestricted free agent. This time is expected to have a different outcome, as James intends to re-sign with his current team, sources said.

Other NBA reporters have echoed Windhorst’s view regarding James’s intentions.

Kevin Love is expected to be a free agent, as is J.R. Smith, which should make this an intriguing offseason on the shores of Lake Erie.
