A home run on a backward swing? Mon dieu!

“Les 4 Chevaliers” is, as the name suggests, a four-man team that takes on full-size squads in fast-pitch softball leagues in Quebec. Not only does the team apparently more than hold its own, but it does so while entertaining the crowds with humorous antics, making the quartet something like the Harlem Globetrotters of their sport.

As with the Globetrotters, the “Chevaliers,” or “Knights,” are not just comedians but very skilled players. A pair of them have spent time in MLB farm systems, and another one, Renaud Lefort, is clearly a whiz with a bat in his hands.

Lefort, a right-handed batter, stood in the right-side batter’s box, then whirled with his back to the pitcher before not only connecting, but taking the pitch deep. That earned him high-fives from the opposition, in addition to well-deserved applause from the crowd.
